McPhearson, 23, was a highly touted two way athlete out of DeMartha High School in Hyatesville, VA where he excelled on the baseball diamond and the football field. Blessed with incredible speed, Derrick chose to play college football at the University of Illinois before finishing his career at Hampton University. The Milwaukee Brewers signed him earlier this season as an undrafted free agent; where he played for the Wisconsin Rattlers, the Midwest affiliate of the Brewers.
