Haran, 24, played his 2009 season with the Lancaster Barnstormers of the Atlantic League. He signed with the St. Louis Cardinals as an undrafted free agent and has since played professionally with the Golden League, Frontier League and Atlantic League. There he produced a .290 average with 12 HR’s while handling the Lancaster pitching staff. His bat and glove will be valuable assets to the Surge in 2009.
