Matt Jernstad, 23, from Belle County, Texas recently completed his 2nd season of professional baseball with the Windy City Thunderbolts of the Frontier League. He enjoyed a successful collegiate career at Northern Illinois University before embarking on his professional career. This past season he went 7-4 with a 2.31 ERA in 44 games, including 8 starts. His flexibility and willingness to adapt will make his invaluable for the Surge during the season.
