Stantrel Smith, 25, is an outfielder from Decatur, Georgia and a former 16th round pick of the LA Angels in 2003 out of North Florida Community College. Smith, a multi-tooled athlete, can make opponents pay with his bat or his legs. In 2008, Stantrel his 6 doubles, 7 triples, 4 HR’s, and stole 21 bases for the El Paso Diablos of the American Association. In ‘09, he hit .355 with 34 stolen bases for the Amarillo Dillas of the United League. His experience will go along way in the Surge outfield this season.
